important on the album, to cast a glance to some of our contemporaries. And we'vet chosen a couple
of tracks coming from the period of the eighties which was, of course, you could say, the peak
for Simple Minds."

Both Malcolm Duffy and Vince Clarke were asked to remix the track. Duffy's reworks,
which included a remix and dub, were made commercially available on a
single from Remote Records.
Clarke produced two completely different mixes, originally entitled Mix 1 and
Mix 2 respectively. Mix 2 was a classical synth-pop restyling and was included as a bonus track on the
first Cry single (where it was titled the Vince Clarke Remix).
Mix 1 was a complete departure from the song, only recognisable as Homosapien thanks to a repeated lyric sample which
played sporadically during the track. Jim thought it was far too good to be a mere B-side, particularly
in an instrumental form, so it was edited down, retitled The Floating World
and concluded the Cry album.
