American Concert Series ACS 022

CD in jewel case with colour insert.
5/10 (2nd May 1983)
The US leg of the New Gold Tour found Simple Minds playing a tried-and-tested
set-list which had been perfected during the earlier European gigs. It was the last solo part of the tour, and the last
concerts to concentrate on the new album, before the festival dates of the summer months and the gradual appearance of new material.
The Washington concert was recorded and Perfect Reception features almost the entire gig. However, this bootleg suffers
from volume, tone and balance fluctuations suggesting the CD was mastered from a badly chewed cassette tape. Which is a pity as the
sound (when good) is clear and well mixed.
One for the completists only as far better recordings of this leg of the tour exist (such as Dutch Daze or
Form Phallus Function).
