little bitch

background
Little Bitch was composed between July 1977 and November 1977 by Johnny And The Self Abusers whilst they spent the summer gigging around Scotland. Clocking in at just under three minutes, this was standard punk, with added fuzz guitars and wailing sax.

Given the song's obvious punk roots, it was probably one of the earliest songs written by the band and also one of the most unremarkable - none of the reviewers mentioned it at the time.

Despite being relatively mundane, the song was included on the band's second demo tape, where it was the penultimate track. This version, recorded on the 9th November 1977, is the only existing version of the song.

The song was limited to Johnny And The Self Abusers and was never carried forward by the fledgling Simple Minds.

It was formally officially released on the The Early Years 1977-78 CD in March 1998. Questions over legalities, especially the financing of demo tape, saw the CD being swiftly withdrawn.
