"I can’t give too much away, but the video is a little departure from normal work as a director
for me, but really looking forward to it. We will be heading down to Paris, across to Berlin, to
create a surreal and sinister video." - Damien Reeves
The song Blindfolded was the teaser release for the
Big Music album. The video was also a teaser, eschewing band or
narrative for a reflected landscape taken from the streets of Paris and Berlin. It was surreal – insofar
that it was unexpected and the group didn’t feature – but it didn’t match
Jim's dark lyrics and missed the "sinister" attribute wanted by the director.
Much seemed to be taken from a car window or train. The video flicked from horizontal to vertical mirroring,
yielding odd perspectives and washed out landscapes. It fitted the music – but did the music fit the video?
The film leader gives production and director credits, as well as a recording date of 12th August 2014.
