Promised You A Miracle [Radio Edit] (3:35)

This video could've just been an obligatory promotional tool for the
Acoustic album, but it allowed
the new acoustic line-up of Simple Minds to be
publically showcased in a video for the first time. Gordon Goudie was back, joining
Charlie and
Ged on guitar, his first appearance in a Simple Minds
video since 2001's Dancing Barefoot. And it was apt that
Cherisse Osei was prominently featured – the band's new percussionist
performed with charisma and flare.
It was wisely shot in black and white. Colour stills from the shoot – which were used as promotional pictures – revealed
strings of multicoloured lights which distracted from the band; it all looked a little too "Christmassy." (These
strings of lights were part of the Old Fruitmarket, an old Glasgow landmark now converted to a touring venue.)
All-in-all it was a standard roving-handheld, studio performance, which was pretty standard stuff for
Simple Minds, but it whetted appetites for the forthcoming acoustic performances and was a
notable addition to the videography.

And KT Tunstall was there as well. Or was she? I think the video was shot twice: once with
the touring line-up and once with Jim and KT alone.
It was probably all down to logistics and who-was-available-when, but it was all nicely done, and not noticeable
unless you were actively looking.
The video was released on the 31st October 2016.
It was shot at the Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow.
