To introduce concert goers to Simple Minds, Virgin issued The Promised as a handly CD compilation album. It was intended to only be sold at the Proms themselves, but copies ended up being imported far and wide.

Don't You (Forget About Me) featured a short instrumetal intro of the riff from East At Easter.

The tour programme featured a two page biography of the band along with several exclusive photographs. The Promised was released to be sold at the concerts. It featured the songs played live and other hits from their back catalogue.
