background
League Of Nations was recorded during the album's first session at The Manor,
along with The American, in late February 1981.
Whilst it has the feel of an unfinished track, the band had opportunity to revisit it later that March - as
they did for The American - but it was obviously considered finished and
was not touched again during the sessions. (Probably because it was recorded as a B-side and therefore not worthy of
more studio time).
Despite its lowly status, it ended up on Sisters Feeling Call, the budget
album of ideas and off-cuts from Sons And Fascination.
It was fleshed out more during
album's tour, and a recording from Hammersmith Odeon
became a bonus track on the Sweat In Bullet single.
The live version included extra lyrics (which can be heard on the Sweat In Bullet single).
Unfortunately it's very difficult to make them out.
The song was then forgotten and it hasn't been played live since.
"I can remember playing this song at Glasgow Apollo in years gone by. A great early Minds track and no mistake."
