background
This was the first song completed for the album. Whilst in LA, Jim was visited by
director/writer Michael Davis who was compiling the soundtrack for the film The Match. He immediately picked this
song for the film after hearing the opening riff of the demo.
Charlie completed the song in Scotland with Jim finishing the
lyrics in LA. Unfortunatley despite their urgency, Hello never made the soundtrack.
This song was unofficially premiered by
Jordi Tarda on the 11th November 2000.
When eventually finally mastered for Silver Box, the song gained an extended intro.
"Such a small yet powerful word. Hello! What does it really mean in this case? To me it says, 'Here I am! This is our music!
We want to Talk To You! Hello! Hello!!!'" - Jim, Silver Box.

The lyrics have never been published: a transcription follows
Hello.
I can feel the whole world breathing when you sigh.
Hello.
And no stick nor stone could split us if they try.
Lush that thing that multiplies.
Your trusted thing goes out on time.
Hello.
Season calls for me to think of change.
Hello.
Your body's driving me like molten flame.
Sunburst sees the harvest day,
Such wisp wheat will rise again.
I never want to be that proud.
Nothing much to say.
I'd rather turn the thing around and take a chance to drift,
Drift away.
Hello.
I think I know your name.
Hello.
Let's try to meet again.
Hello.
Hello.
Hello.
'Cause I'm sure our fantasies are about the same.
And this planet shudder secrets not to blame.
