background
Unlike most of their earlier material, Take Me To The Angels had a waltz like quality to it.
It was a feature of their
1978 gigs but escaped being demoed or recorded.
It can be found on the first Simple Minds bootleg tape.
Brian Hogg reviewed the song several times, writing the following from in
Cripe's review:
"On Take Me To The Angels, the introduction and the first verse power on, but suddenly an extra surge comes through,
lifting an already great song. Take Me To The Angels, is probably their most commercial (in singles terms) song. Like all their set,
it's long-ish and not immediate in terms of remembering each note or word as soon as it's finished. Each song takes its time."
The song was also mentioned in their 1978 press release and was featured
during their Life In A Day tour.
And the song was registered with EMI Publishing and appears in their lists.
