"... David would make his own tapes to play before the band went on,
patching together sounds of clocks, musical boxes and bits of Eno records. Jane assembled
a revolving perspex head witha flashing blue light from a police car in it, which would spin in the darkness as the band took to the stage,
their backs to the audience." - Adam Sweeting
One of David's intro tapes was captured on a recording of
Grangemouth Town Hall from the 9th November 1978. The recording slowly built from the backing
of a single ticking clock, being gradually overlaid with a violin melody and an nondescript male narration. As the band were heralded by cheers
as they took to the stage, the aural montage was replaced by the metallic chimes of a single music box.
