"It was recorded in Belgium June '09, during the rehearsals for the Summer shows that followed on from the May release of Graffiti Soul. At rather short notice Universal - the German record company - had pushed for us to give them an exclusive track in return for some additional profile for Graffiti Soul on Amazon German site.

Charlie Burchill suggested we do "Children Of The Revolution" as it was was always a fave of his. Everyone knows how much Bowie meant to us as teenagers, in truth Marc Bolan was probably our first musical hero.

During rehearsals we always ask the sound engineer to record all that we do. Although the recordings are of a fairly basic standard it gives us an idea of what is going on with the balances of the songs "out front".

We play the song at the start to evoke the memories of the music that influenced us, but after that the whole set is about the music of Simple Minds.
