This was the first tape of two monitor tapes which recorded the state of
New Gold Dream (81,82,83,84) on
the 18th May 1982.
The recording is extremely drum and bass heavy.
All these instrumentals instantly recognisable and the composition and arrangements
are almost the same as the final album. There are some subtle differences - especially with
the two versions of 2 Part Song.
All the songs feature drummer count-ins and longer outros before the final fades (which
in some cases are quite long and gentle and in others are quite abrupt).

the 18th May 1982.

All these instrumentals instantly recognisable and the composition and arrangements
are almost the same as the final album. King Is White And In The Crowd
also has lyrics and many subtle differences.
All the songs feature drummer count-ins and longer outros before the final fades.
The tape had obviously been reused at least twice because there was another take of
King Is White And In The Crowd and finally
the tape recording dropped out to a jamming session which included
The Low Song.
