Big Music 5 Track Sampler

SIMPLE MINDS - BIG MUSIC ALBUM SAMPLER

Included in '100 Most Influential Bands'NME, August 2014

"As Bobby Gillespie, James Dean Bradfield and The Horrors’ Rhys Webb recently confided to Mojo, the cool kids kind of dug them all along." - Mojo Magazine

"Simple Minds are suddenly alive and kicking again." - The Guardian

Following their phenomenal renaissance of recent years, in November Simple Minds will release their first album of new material in five years. Big Music sees the band reconnect with their early selves on an album tapping into electronica, soundtracking a 21st century travelogue.

The five tracks on this sampler area a taster of what to expect from the album. With a visceral renewed vigour, once again the band has a questing spirit, one that gives the songs herein a feeling of restless, perpetual motion. The songs also showcase the band's exceptional songwriting prowess, still very much intact with effortlessly catching songs of subtle, infectious hooks as well as instantly catch choruses.

The album was recorded by the exceptional line-up of Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill, Mel Gaynor, Andy Gillespie, Ged Grimes and Sarah Brown. It was produced by Andy Wright and Steve Osborne and includes a co-write with Iain Cook of Chvrches.

More relevant than ever, Simple Minds have been lauded in recent times by NME and Mojo, and artists including The Horrors, Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream and Radiohead. Last year the band played to 130,000 people in the UK alone – the most ever in one year.
