The first lead singer of Genesis was a role-model for Jim when he
saw the band during the 1970s in Glasgow. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway would become one of
Jim's favourite albums.
In a role-reversal, Simple Minds came to Peter Gabriel's attention after
he heard Real To Real Cacophony. Finding the band in
severe financial hardship after the release of Empires And Dance,
he invited them to join him as support band for his European Tour - all expenses paid. (For that reason, he
received a credit on the sleeve of Sons And Fascination.
