additional information
With Sons And Fascination and
Sister Feelings Call awarding the band
their best chart performance to date, and the band having completed the UK leg
of their tour a month previously, Virgin issued
Sweat In Bullet to mark the separation of the albums and release
some choice live cuts from their recent gigs.
Issued on 7", 7" double pack and 12", it was the glossiest Simple Minds release yet. But it was the
double pack and 12" which were the most interesting, featuring three tracks recorded at Hammersmith Odeon on the 25th September 1981.
The Theme kicked off with Pete Walsh's solid extended remix of
Sweat In Bullet, a no-nonsense track from
Sons And Fascination. (This remix impressed the band who offered him
the producer's chair for their next single).
20th Century Promised Land represented the more ethereal
Sister Feelings Call.
League Of Nations and
In Trance As Mission both appeared on the 12" and therefore
graced the Theme (which unfortunately left the live recording of Premonition,
the bonus track on the 7” double pack, in vinyl purgatory).
