B1. Waterfront['89 Remix]     (5:20)
B2. Big Sleep[Live]     (6:39)

catalogue
Virgin SMXT 5
SMXT 5 A-2U-1-1//SMXTG 5 B-2U-1-1

format
12" with white labels in colour sleeve.

release date
July 1989

additional information
A large number of the first pressings of the commerical 12" were pressed up with white labels and then sent out as promos in the commerical 12" sleeve. They were relatively common when first issued but have becoming increasingly rare.

(Some sellers call them test pressings due to the white labels. They are not test pressings as a large number were made and a test pressing wouldn't have been housed in a commerical sleeve).

2. Waterfront['89 Remix]     (5:20)
3. Big Sleep[Live]     (6:35)

Virgin SMXCD 5-DJ

format
CD with typed label in a plain jewelcase.

release date
July 1989

additional information
A large number of these CD promos were pressed making them relatively common today. They were issued in plain jewelcases without stickers.

The matrix number reveals that Virgin simply used the German 5" CD master to produce this promo.

Logically this should've had the catalogue number of Virgin BRUCE 3. However, no CD using that catalogue number was ever issued.

kick it in remix promo 12"

tracks
A1. Kick It In[Unauthorised Mix](7:02)
B1. Waterfront['89 Remix](5:20)

catalogue
Virgin DJSMXT 5
SMXTG 5 B-1U-1-1//DJSMXT 5 B-1U-1- TOWNHOUSE DMM

format
12" with grey labels in a plain black die-cut sleeve.

release date
July 1989

additional information
A second promotional 12" was issued for the single for club play. It featured the Unauthorised Mix (which would only be made initially available on commerical limited edition 12") and the '89 Remix of Waterfront.

A nice graphical touch was included on the labels where a large 'A' was used. (This was a device used by other record companies to identify promos).

A large number were pressed up and so this promo is still relatively common today.
