The reissue dispensed with the original dyed and textured Zoom Arista outer sleeve, instead replacing it with a new glossy design which was a brighter shade of blue. The inner sleeve was retained. The original blue labels were replaced by Virgin's red-and-green generic design.

This budget reissue used the same glossy blue sleeve as the first Virgin pressing. The LPs themselves were the same pressing, with the original catalogue number crossed out and the new catalogue number added; the labels were of generic Virgin design. The original picture inner sleeve wasn't reproduced; a plain white sleeve was used instead.

The first reissue CD was simply a repressing of the original CD. The only changes to the artwork were the catalogue number and the addition of a bar-code to the back sleeve. The album's title was correct on the front cover i.e. Real To Real Cacophony but was still misprinted as Reel To Real Cacophony on the spine and back cover.

Some had "Virgin Value" stickers on the front of their jewelcases.

Virgin also sent out promo issues. These were the same as the commerical versions, but had blue promo stickers over the bar-code.
