Initial copies featured thick glossy card sleeve, subsequently changed for flimsy card for later pressings. The flimsy card sleeves are easily creased or marked. However, copies are still extremely plentiful so mint versions can still be found.

The BPI began recording sales of cassette singles in 1987 which is probably what prompted the first cassette single release by Simple Minds (although it would be another two years before sales of the format were considered for chart position).

The first Simple Minds cassette single was a suitably glossy affair. It carried the same tracks as the 12", along with the same artwork, and was housed in a plastic case with a colour inlay.

Enough copies were pressed to make it relatively common today.
