Zoom ZUM 10
ZUM 10 A//1 EAR 1/ZUM 10 B//1 EAR 1
7" with die injected labels with single sided full colour acetate sleeve.
A very mysterious object.
This is the stock 7" of Life In A Day without a sleeve. Instead, a 7" square piece of acetate is included
with the record which deplicts this rather strange design. I purchased it from a dealer who received it directly from
Zoom Records as a pre-release.
I showed it to Bruce Findlay who denied it originated from Zoom - he suggested
that it was a bootleg sleeve, but he'd never seen this design before.
The artwork was based on The Walking City Project (1964) by Ron Herron, working at Archigram,
part of the Anti-Design movement. What this has to do with Simple Minds and
Life In A Day is anyone's guess.
