additional information
Some of the French CDs (see above) were housed in an additional card slip-sleeve. This heavy-duty card sleeve had extra graphics and emphasised that the collection was the "best of Simple Minds". The track listing was given extra prominence on the back.

They were probably mass produced by Virgin France to increase casual sales by focusing on the "Best Of" nature of the compilation.

additional information
I am not sure of the provenance of this cassette. I purchased it from a anonymous record store in sleepy Cornwall yet I knew there was something special about it. When I compared it against the standard cassette then it turned out that my gut instinct was correct.

It's a legitimate Virgin release with glossy inner sleeve except that the cover banner graphics are shifted, the back cover of the fold-out inlay is black-and-white, and the cassette has the catalogue number of "TC-SMTVC 1" instead of "SMTVC 1".

I believe it's Australian as I've seen the "TC" prefix used for some of their other Simple Minds releases, but that's the only reason. It appears to be quite rare.
