what goes on

composers
Lou Reed

publisher
Oakfield Avenue Music Ltd

background
"There was a quote saying that although The Velvet Underground in fact sold so few records everyone who bought one then went on to form their own band and make their own music. Lostboy! AKA owned every one of their albums and begged, borrowed and stole to do so. Inevitably then it is right to acknowledge their influence and What Goes On is one of the lesser Velvet Underground songs covered by others. I look forward to playing it in the live set" - Jim

"Woland, Behemoth and the Master himself, gazed out at the city. "Gentlemen our work is over, but we have come too far to leave without hearing "What Goes On" by Lostboy!. The huge black cat known as Behemoth said "Master I would consider putting aside my penchant for chess, vodka and pistols, to make that happen! Especially the Paul Statham Scary Monsters Mix." "Let it be so then, dear Behemoth," the Master replied." - Jim

lyrics
What goes on in your mind? I think that I am falling down.
What goes on in your mind:? I think that I am upside down.
Lady, be good, and do what you should, you know it'll work alright.
Lady, be good, do what you should, you know it'll be alright.

I'm going up, and I'm going down, I'm going to fly from side to side.
See the bells, up in the sky, somebody's cut the string in two.
Lady, be good, and do what you should, you know it'll work alright.
Lady, be good, do what you should, you know it'll be alright.

One minute one, one minute two, one minute up and one minute down.
What goes on here in your mind? I think that I am falling down.
Lady, be good, and do what you should, you know it'll work alright.
Lady, be good, do what you should, you know it'll be alright.
