nail through my heart

background
"Despite the thundering cry from the heart chorus, "Nail Through My Heart" is more musical cinescape than song. The range of atmospheres that we work from is already expansive throughout this debut album, but it is sure to grow even more as Lostboy! AKA moves with quickened pace into the future. Written in London, overlooking Hyde Park, on an afternoon when a storm took over the city, the music seems to portray an overwhelming calmness that begs to be broken." - Jim

The song appears to be a reworking of New Warm Skin, which was recorded during the Empires And Dance sessions. The melodies and effects are very similar, whilst Jim's spoken introduction is the last two lines of the original song.

lyrics
Is this a war?
Is this a God?

You put a nail through my heart,
A nail through my heart,
Then you discarded me.
You were corrupt from the start,
You took it too far,
Then you discarded me.
You put a mark on my skin,
Let yourself in,
Then you discarded me.
You put a nail through my heart,
A nail through my heart,
And I still feel it all.

You put your hand on my head,
The promise was made,
It was a lie.
You said the world that we're in,
Was all images and just close your eyes.
You put a nail through my heart,
A nail through my heart,
I feel it still.
Yes a nail through my heart,
A nail through my heart,
It's still inside of me.
